Scope

This Standard sets out the method for statistically controlling maximum dry density and optimum moisture content values used for the determination of dry density ratio and moisture ratio. It is applicable to material that contains not more than 20% by mass of material, on a wet basis, retained on the 37.5 mm sieve and where all test and sample sites have been randomly selected from within an area of work (which is defined as a lot).
