Abstract

Sets out a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, lead, manganese, nickel and zinc extracted from soil by digestion with aqua regia.

Scope

This Standard specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric (FAAS) method for the determination of metals in aqua regia extracts of soils or related materials. Working solution concentration ranges for a number of metals are set out in Table 1.
NOTE: This procedure should be performed only by an analyst familiar with the chemistry of the technique and the operational procedures of the instrument used.
