Specifies positions of attachment for permanent labels carrying the brand name, size or dimensions, care instructions, fibre content, country of origin and, for children's nightwear and some daywear garments, the fire hazard classification. The way in which this information is to be combined if there is more than one label is detailed.
This Standard sets out methods for the permanent labelling of clothing, household textiles and furnishings with the brand name, size or dimensions, care instructions, fibre content and country of origin.
NOTE: Refer to AS/NZS 1249 for fire hazard information labelling of children's nightwear.
The Standard is applicable to all types of clothing, household textiles and furnishings, whether of textile, plastic, plastic-coated fabric, suede, grain leather or fur.
