Sets out a universal numbering system to designate the fineness or coarseness of textile fibres, yarns, intermediate products (e.g. tops and rovings) and other products of similar structures.

Scope

This Standard gives details of the Tex System of numbering textile fibres, intermediate products (e.g. tops and rovings), yarns and similar structures. It provides for the conversion of counts or numbers expressed in other systems into tex values, both exact and rounded.
