Abstract

Sets out requirements for simple mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electrical portable hand-held peak expiratory flow meters for self-monitoring of peak expiratory flow rate. Appendices include methods for determining accuracy and repeatability of flow meter output, effects of ageing and back pressure at constant flow.

This Standard sets out the requirements for simple mechanical, electro-mechanical and electrical portable hand-held peak expiratory flow meters (PEFM) for self-monitoring of peak expiratory flow rate.
