This standard applies to constant envelope angle modulation systems for use in the land mobile service, using the available bandwidth, operating on radio frequencies between 30 MHz and 1 000 MHz, with channel separations of 12,5 kHz, 20 kHz and 25 kHz intended for non-speech transmissions (more specifically, transmissions of signals used to initiate a specific response in the receiver).
