Abstract

Specifies the technical characteristics (electroacoustic and logical) that are needed to provide end-to-end compatibility of terminal equipment of the 3,1 kHz telephony teleservice which is meant for connection to the ISDN basic rate interface at the coincident S/T or S reference point. The requirements define only those characteristics relevant to normal handset telephony. Does not apply to: cordless telephony; hands-free or loudspeaking telephony; telephony in hostile environments; telephony for disabled people.
